Medical & Professional Disclaimer
Effective Date: March 21, 2026 · Last Updated: March 21, 2026
IMPORTANT NOTICE
PLEASE READ THIS DISCLAIMER CAREFULLY BEFORE USING RESIDENCY SPACE. BY ACCESSING OR USING OUR SERVICES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS DISCLAIMER.
1. General Disclaimer
Residency Space is operated by Navayug Labs LLC, a California limited liability company. The website located at residencyspace.com and all related applications, tools, and services (collectively, the “Services”) are provided for informational and organizational purposes only.
RESIDENCY SPACE IS NOT A MEDICAL INSTITUTION, HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, MEDICAL ADVISOR, CAREER COUNSELOR, ACADEMIC ADVISOR, PROFESSIONAL LICENSING BODY, OR RESIDENCY PLACEMENT SERVICE.
2. Not Medical Advice
Nothing contained in or provided through the Services is intended to be, nor shall it be construed as, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The Services do not replace the relationship between you and your physician or healthcare provider.
While the Services collect and organize information related to medical education (such as USMLE/COMLEX examination scores and clinical experience), this information is used solely for the purpose of residency program matching and application management. The collection, storage, or display of this information does not constitute the practice of medicine or the delivery of healthcare services.
IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, CALL 911 OR YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY SERVICES IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT RELY ON THE SERVICES FOR ANY MEDICAL PURPOSE.
3. Not Professional Career Advice
The Services, including rubric-produced fit scores, AI-generated narratives, program recommendations, and application guidance, do not constitute professional career counseling or advising. Specifically:
- Fit scores are rubric-produced estimates -- they are computed by Residency Space’s proprietary, deterministic scoring rubric from a limited set of profile inputs and public program benchmarks, and should not be interpreted as a prediction of your likelihood of matching at any program
- AI narratives are generative explanations, not clinical judgment -- plain-English summaries, strengths, concerns, and recommendation labels are produced by a third-party large language model (currently Google Gemini) to explain the rubric’s output. They may contain errors and should be cross-referenced with your medical school advisors and official program resources
- Program recommendations are not endorsements -- the inclusion or exclusion of any program in recommendations does not constitute our opinion on whether you should or should not apply there
- Application guidance is not a substitute for professional advising -- your medical school’s career advising office, faculty mentors, and residency program directors are far better positioned to provide personalized guidance
- No fiduciary relationship is created -- your use of the Services does not create any advisor-advisee, counselor- client, or fiduciary relationship between you and Residency Space
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT WITH QUALIFIED MEDICAL EDUCATORS, ACADEMIC ADVISORS, FACULTY MENTORS, AND RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTORS BEFORE MAKING DECISIONS ABOUT YOUR RESIDENCY APPLICATIONS, RANK ORDER LIST, OR CAREER PATH.
4. Artificial Intelligence Limitations
The Services use third-party artificial intelligence technology (currently Google Gemini) to generate analyses and recommendations. You must understand the following limitations:
Accuracy & Reliability
- AI-generated outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or “hallucinations” -- statements that appear factual but are incorrect
- AI models are trained on historical data that may not reflect current program requirements, preferences, or trends
- The same input may produce different outputs at different times
- AI cannot account for subjective factors that significantly influence residency decisions, such as personal statements, letters of recommendation content, interview performance, or interpersonal fit
Bias & Limitations
- AI models may reflect biases present in their training data, which could lead to outputs that inadvertently favor or disfavor certain groups, specialties, or program types
- AI-generated analyses are based on patterns in data and cannot capture the full complexity of residency admissions, which involve holistic review by human committees
- We do not guarantee that AI outputs are free from bias, and we encourage you to evaluate all recommendations critically
Not a Prediction
FIT SCORES, COMPATIBILITY ANALYSES, AND PROGRAM RECOMMENDATIONS ARE NOT PREDICTIONS OF MATCH OUTCOMES. NUMERICAL FIT SCORES ARE PRODUCED BY A PROPRIETARY, DETERMINISTIC SCORING RUBRIC, AND ACCOMPANYING NARRATIVE EXPLANATIONS ARE GENERATED BY A THIRD-PARTY LARGE LANGUAGE MODEL. BOTH REST ON A LIMITED SET OF INPUTS AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS ONE OF MANY INPUTS IN YOUR DECISION-MAKING PROCESS -- NOT THE SOLE OR PRIMARY BASIS FOR ANY APPLICATION DECISION.
Do Not Treat a “Reach” as a Stop Sign
A program tagged as “Reach” in the Services is not a recommendation against applying. Applicants regularly match into programs that a generalized rubric would have flagged as aspirational, and the established advice from medical educators is to apply broadly -- including to programs above your statistical comfort zone -- rather than to self-select out based on a numerical score. Tier labels (Reach, Target, Likely) are descriptive shorthand for where a program sits relative to your profile in our rubric; they are not gatekeeping signals, eligibility determinations, or instructions to refrain from applying.
5. No Affiliation with Medical Organizations
Residency Space is an independent platform. We are not endorsed by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with any of the following organizations:
- National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
- Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
- Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)
- Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
- National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME)
- National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME)
- Any medical school, teaching hospital, or residency program
- Any state medical licensing board
All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced in the Services (including NRMP, ACGME, AAMC, ERAS, USMLE, COMLEX, NBME, and NBOME) are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. Their use does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
6. Program Data Accuracy
Residency program information displayed in the Services is compiled from publicly available records, including the ACGME Public Accreditation Data System and aggregate statistics published by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) in its Charting Outcomes and Program Results reports, used under fair use with attribution to the original source. We do not copy, mirror, scrape, or otherwise reproduce any proprietary database in whole or in substantial part, and we do not republish any subscription-gated program dataset. While we make commercially reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and current data:
- Program information (requirements, positions, deadlines, interview dates, faculty, and contact details) may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate
- Programs may change their requirements, preferences, or characteristics at any time without notice to us
- New programs may be established, and existing programs may close, merge, or change accreditation status without our knowledge
- Program statistics (match rates, board pass rates, etc.) are historical in nature and do not predict future outcomes
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ALL PROGRAM INFORMATION DIRECTLY WITH THE RELEVANT INSTITUTION, PROGRAM WEBSITE, OR OFFICIAL DIRECTORIES BEFORE MAKING APPLICATION DECISIONS.
7. User Data & Self-Reported Information
The quality of AI-generated analyses and recommendations depends directly on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. You acknowledge that:
- Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated profile information will result in unreliable analyses and recommendations
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of all information you enter into the Services
- Residency Space does not independently verify any self-reported information (examination scores, research publications, clinical experiences, etc.)
- Submitting false or misleading information may result in inaccurate analyses and could violate our Terms of Service
8. HIPAA & Health Information
Residency Space is not a “covered entity” or “business associate” as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The information you provide to us regarding your medical education, examination scores, and clinical experience is not “protected health information” (PHI) as defined under HIPAA, and HIPAA’s privacy and security requirements do not apply to the Services.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, we treat all user data -- including medical education information -- with the highest level of care and implement commercially reasonable security measures as described in our Privacy Policy. To the extent the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) applies to any information you provide, we comply with its requirements.
9. No Guarantee of Match Outcomes
RESIDENCY SPACE MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, OR GUARANTEES -- EXPRESS OR IMPLIED -- REGARDING YOUR LIKELIHOOD OF MATCHING, THE COMPETITIVENESS OF YOUR APPLICATION, OR THE OUTCOME OF ANY RESIDENCY APPLICATION OR MATCH PROCESS. THE USE OF THE SERVICES DOES NOT INCREASE OR DECREASE YOUR CHANCES OF MATCHING AT ANY PROGRAM. MATCH OUTCOMES DEPEND ON NUMEROUS FACTORS ENTIRELY OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL, INCLUDING PROGRAM PREFERENCES, INTERVIEW PERFORMANCE, APPLICATION VOLUME, AND THE DECISIONS OF PROGRAM SELECTION COMMITTEES.
10. Emotional & Mental Health
The residency application process can be stressful and emotionally challenging. AI-generated fit scores and program recommendations may cause anxiety, particularly if they do not align with your expectations or aspirations.
We strongly encourage you to:
- Interpret all AI-generated outputs as data points, not verdicts
- Discuss concerns about your application competitiveness with trusted mentors and advisors
- Seek support from your medical school’s wellness resources or counseling services if you are experiencing significant stress related to the application process
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RESIDENCY SPACE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO:
- YOUR RELIANCE ON ANY INFORMATION, AI-GENERATED OUTPUT, FIT SCORE, OR RECOMMENDATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICES
- ANY DECISIONS YOU MAKE OR ACTIONS YOU TAKE BASED ON INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICES
- ANY MATCH OUTCOME, APPLICATION RESULT, OR CAREER CONSEQUENCE
- ANY INACCURACY, ERROR, OR OMISSION IN PROGRAM DATA OR AI-GENERATED CONTENT
- ANY EMOTIONAL DISTRESS OR PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACT RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES
For the full limitation of liability and warranty disclaimers, please refer to our Terms of Service.

- You have read, understood, and agree to the disclaimers and limitations set forth in this document
- You understand that the Services are informational tools, not professional advisory services
